Finally found jeans that don't gap at the waist, and the ripped knees add just the right edge without being overdone. The light grey washes out nicely with sneakers and a tee.

The high waist on these is just right, doesn't gap at all, and the light grey wash looks exactly like the photo. They're snug but still comfortable enough to wear all day.

The rips at the knees are placed just right, not too aggressive, and the light grey wash pairs perfectly with everything I own. I've worn them three times already and the high waist still cinches without digging in, plus the side split hem adds a little something extra when I walk.
